Transport

Community Connections has been to the forefront in the development of transport provision reducing social and geographic isolation by initiating and developing the Rural LIFT community transport project.  Now that Rural LIFT is established as an independent project Community Connections will continue to be actively involved, albeit to a lesser degree in terms of staff, volunteer and financial resources.  This has allowed the project the opportunity to invest resources in the development of other areas of work.  Community Connections remains committed to transport provision being used as a way of reducing social and geographic isolation.

Aim – To research and develop ways to overcome social and geographic isolation for identified individuals and groups of people by developing models of transport services that will increase their opportunity to participate in community life.
